Hardware Requirements

Midivid is written to run on any Pentium win98/2000 PC properly configured with direct X 7 or better. Problems you may have will boil down to windows/hardware misconfiguration and the stability of your overall system. Midivid sends Windows a command and the operating system takes it from there. Midivid was originally designed with the intent of crash proof performance on PC systems using "All in one" Motherboards. These motherboards offer decent on board video and audio and are great for rack mounting. The computer system we used for testing was as follows.

Houston technologies 766lmrt2 motherboard
(Built in Intel 810 AGP video chipset and audio)
Intel
Celeron 400
64 meg RAM
UDMA66 6.2 gig hard drive
generic 15" monitor
midi keyboard

A better description of the test unit is available on DJ Lace's Vutek resource site.

This configuration gave us the ability to superimpose four 30fps Cinepak AVIs (with transparency) with two realtime FX in 320x240 mode.

We have seen great results from artists using machines in the P200/64megs/PCI video range. We also managed to get decent midi controlled still frame animation on a P120.

Midivid was written with cinepak video compression in mind. We do not guarantee results using hardware compression video cards. Midivid is not a dual head program.
