Info

Midivid 1 is a powerful program for PCs running windows 98/2000 and directX 7+ that offers MIDI control of full motion video and realtime midi driven robotics.

The Original Video midi drum module for windows:

Midivid lets you control the playback of full screen video clips and still images on a PC by hitting keys on a properly connected MIDI controller. You can add multiple effects in real time and also affect the way video clips and stills appear on screen using velocity (how hard you hit a note).

Midi robotics Controller

"Midi robotics" is a standard defined by VUTAG that uses Midi to provide an easy to use and extremely flexible control environment for robotic applications. The mechanical components are all based on existing and affordable RC technology, commonly used for light robotics and most proffessional animatronics. Midivid brings expressive robotics down to anyone's reach.

Midivid allows you to control up to 512 RC servo motors (or devices) connected to your computer's serial ports via a Scott Edwards micro controller. You can set specific positions for the servos to turn to when you press a key, or control them in realtime using continuous Midi controller data (like that sent by a midi fader bank).

The program was originally designed By Midnight and Lace for MIDI based control of digital video at live electronic concerts and Raves. The program was first used commercially in september 1999. On may 7th 2000 Midivid 1.0 (RC1.08) was first released to the public as freeware via this site. The final version of Midivid (1.1) was released on june 21 2000. Robotics was introduced in January 2001 for Midivid 1.12. This is the current version.

Midivid 1.12 may be freeware but it is a commercial quality program created by industry proffessionals and the source code is privately owned by Jason Dorie. This program is part of a commercial midi performance development project sponsored by VUTAG.
